The BVMBA has been working with Parks Canada to select a trail that is in need of some repair work as part of our trail maintenance plans for 2010. We suggested looking at the beginning and end of the Moraine Lake Highline Trail in Lake Louise to try and build on some work we did there two years ago. Parks has just given us the nod to work with them to improve some channeling we did to remove water from the trail and add to some log work we set into some muddy areas. We hope to be able to split into two working groups and tackle both ends of the trail at once. Until the snow has gone we won't know exactly when we can get in there but we want to do this work once the snow has melted and while there is still quite a bit of water draining off to make it easier to identify the key areas for improvement. Tenatively right at the end of May would probably be best or the first weekend in June. This isn't a job that requires a lot of volunteers, maybe 8 or 10, so if this is something you would like to help with please e-mail us and we will reply. The plan is to keep the work to about 5 or 6 hours on probably a Saturday morning and early afternoon.
