The BVMBA will be conducting some trail clearing , trail restoration and perhaps sometrail re-routing on the Tunnel Mountain bench at the first opportunity this spring. Contractor  crews have been active on the bench thinning out trees as part of a Firesmart initiative to reduce the fuel load in the area to help prevent a catastrophic fire event. Fire crews are currently working on clean-up of the prescribed thinning in the area. Please avoid this area for the time being as slash piles are burning and crews are re-establishing the trail tread. 

To better organise volunteers for our future projects we have decided to take a new approach for 2011. We would like all of you who are interested in doing some trail maintenance to send us your email address and once projects and dates are determined we will send out an email to you and then ask you to respond if you are interested/available.
